Trash Collection

The City of Allen contracts with Community Waste Disposal (CWD) to provide city trash collection and disposal, including recycling services. We also provide household chemical collection/reuse and support a variety of educational programs, special events and volunteer initiatives.

Service and Billing


Residents and businesses are required to use City-contracted trash and recycling services. Trash, recycling and water service is all billed by the City of Allen.
  1. Water and sewer rate increase to Allen customers takes effect Nov. 1

    Water and sewer rates will increase to City of Allen customers in the coming month. For residential accounts, water rates will increase by approximately 6%* and sewer rates will increase by approximately 8%*. These rates take effect Nov. 1.

    City of Allen is proud to receive the 2021 EPA WaterSense Excellence in Education Award! Congratulations to our Water Conservation team for educating residents on smart water use through various programs including the Sustainable Landscape Series.
  3. Bulky item disposal is now easier!

    Beginning Oct. 1, City of Allen solid waste customers can dispose of more items on their assigned bulky item collection day — no need to call ahead to schedule! Collection schedules remain the same. Bulk waste is collected on customer’s assigned Saturday.
